Michael S. "Postman" Hayenga, 55, of Lafayette, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at his residence.

Born Sept. 9, 1954, in Rockford, Ill., he was the son of the late William Hayenga Sr. and Ruth Neblock Hayenga. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1973.

Mr. Hayenga was a truck driver in the Lafayette area and was retired.

On Feb. 21, 1989, he married Lynnette C. Simmons, and they later divorced.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, football and NASCAR.

Surviving are his children, Charlotte A. Hayenga, Tori D. Hayenga, Tiffany A. Hayenga and Cortney M. Hayenga, all of Lafayette; stepdaughters, Brandie Mobley of Lafayette and Tera N. Johnson (husband: Robert) of West Lafayette; a stepson, Micheal W. Mobley of Lafayette; brothers, Gene Hayenga (wife: Susan) and William Hayenga Jr. (wife: Susan), both of Lafayette, and Daniel Hayenga (wife: Linda) of West Lafayette; and sisters, Ruth Welcher (husband: Tom), Cheryl Roden (husband: Rick) and Kathy Rogers, all of Lafayette.
